24th June – Sussex Festival of Nature at Stanmer Park, Lewis. Free Family Nature Festival with many attractions, activities and large farmers and arts market.

12th July – 11am onwards Sussex Green Living treasure hunt in the secret woods in Barns Green!  Bring along your picnic and join us for green outdoor play in these beautiful secret woods. Contact us for more information.

27th July - 12th August – Olympic Games not in Sussex but must be included in this calendar!

30th August 10.30am – 2pm – Sussex Green Living Free Summer Green Family Fun Day at Pedro the red eyed tree frog’s home in Coneyhurst, Nr Billingshurst.  Find out more here.

29th August – 9th Sept – Paralympic Games ditto!

14th – 16th September – Over the Moon, Hempstead Lane, Hailsham, East Sussex.  A family-focused event which will celebrate music, art and environmental awareness. Find out more here.

15th September - West Grinstead Ploughing Fair at Partridge Green.   A great traditional country day out for the whole family.

29th September – Autumnfest at Downlands Community School, Hassocks, Sussex.  HKD Transition’s annual celebration of sustainable living  and will involve local food producers, solar and other alternative energy and energy saving suppliers, craft demonstrations and examples of recycling, re-using and other aspects of sustainable living. Sussex Green Living are going to be there to chat to the public and play recycling game.  Find out more here.

29th – 30th September – Apple Affair at West Dean Gardens, West Dean, Chichester, PO18 0RX.  This traditional event includes apple bobbing for children and adults alike! With over 100 varieties of apples and pears growing in the Victorian walled kitchen garden plus other apple related antics! The apple-doctors will be on stand-by to discuss any apple growing or identification needs.  Stalls, food and family fun.

30th September – Apple Festival at Stanmer Park, Brighton, BN1 6JG.  Apple Day is a seasonal celebration in and around the orchards at Stanmer Park!  Learn moreabout apples, traditional country games in this stunning setting.  And entrance is FREE!

7-9th October – Transition Camp at Wowo campsite, Wapsbourne Manor Farm, Nr Uckfield, TN22 3QT.  A family event to celebrate, share skills, visions, our hopes, fears, tell tales, sing songs, discuss plans, ideas, dreams, to relax, share food, have fun, reconnect, marvel at dark starry skies, sit round open fires, heat up in a sauna and just be with and support each other.  Workshops include bushcraft, kids magic, bike maintenance, foraging and a great deal more plus whatever skills you bring to share. Find out more here.

27th October – RSPB, Pulborough Brooks, Wiggonholt, Pulborough, West Sussex.  Sussex Green Living will be exhibiting here and playing lots of green games. The RSPB Visitor Centre and reserve will be open up with a wide range of exhibitors, stallholders and local crafts-people. Find out more here.

8th November 7-9pm – Xmas Fayre, William Penn Primary School, Coolham, Nr Billingshurst.   Sussex Green Living will have a stand here find out more here.

11th November – Green Day, William Penn School, Coolham, Nr Billingshurst.  Pedro and his recycled robots spent the day at the school working with the children in four class sessions, playing green games and teaching the children ways they can lead a greener life.

17th – 18th November – Christmas Market at Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Town Lane, Singleton, Chichester, PO18 0EU.  Over 120 trade stands with arts, crafts, food, unusual gifts and much more located in and around the Museum’s historic buildings. There will also be hot chestnuts on sale to ward off the winter chill, and other tasty seasonal treats to sample and buy, including a delicious hog roast and festive music around the site. Learn about the history of rural life and meet the working horses and donkeys.
