Sussex green Ideas October online event

20 October 2021 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

At our September SGI we enjoyed hearing from Francis Vernon of the Horsham District Cycling Forum who discussed both the health benefits of cycling, and how the bicycle is a machine that fights climate change. Did you know that more than 40% of car journeys in urban areas are less than 2 miles ?

Our next SGI will take place on Wednesday 20th October on zoom.  We’ll be discussing the need for the rapid roll out of green electricity, and we’ll be considering – “Is it time for Horsham to have a Community energy scheme ?”. We’ll hear from Kate Meakin (Energise South) about what’s involved, and how similar projects in Lewes, Cuckmere, Brighton and Barcombe have been successful. If we’re to start something similar in Horsham we’ll need a group in Horsham – of perhaps 6-10 people – with a range of skills, and a bucket load of enthusiasm. So why don’t you come along to find out how Community Energy Horsham might be able to help Horsham towards net zero ?

The event is free, although donations are appreciated, but you’ll need to register on eventbrite to attend.   Sussex Green Ideas takes place every third Wednesday of the month, 7-8 p.m.   Find out more at https://www.sussexgreenliving.org.uk/sussex-green-ideas/
