1st Saturday in every month 10 – 12 noon – Green Coffee Morning and mini market with Ecover refill service at the Quaker Meeting House, Worthing Road, Horsham RH12 1SL (opposite Sainsburys). Bring your clean, dry, empty Ecover bottles and fill up with washing up liquid, all-purpose cleaner, fabric softener and laundry liquid.

22nd April – Earth Day.  More than one billion people around the world will take part in the 43rd Anniversary of Earth Day. From Beijing to Cairo, Melbourne to London, Madrid to Johannesburg, Rio to New York, communities everywhere will voice their concerns for the planet, and take action to help protect it.  Learn more about Earth Day here.

25th April – Horsham Beavers, waste reduction talk and green upcycled games with Pedro and the Sussex Green Living upcycled robots.

3rd May 11am – 5pm – Green Fayre 14 at Hotham Park, Bognor Regis.  A range of stalls offering hand made crafts including recycled and green!  Fair-trade and organic food and drinks available. Performers, maypole, ride the smoothy bike, workshopts, arts and crafts.  Sussex Green Living’s 100% recycled stand, Pedro and his recycled robots will be there, playing green games and a recycling treasure hunt and giving ideas as to how people can lead a greener life.

4th-5th May – Food & Spring Countryside Show at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Town Lane, Chichester, PO18 0EU. This is a fantastic family event including: cookery theatre, recipe swap, tastings, local crafts & trades, heavy horses performing, between 60-80 food producers and much more.

5th – 11th May – Compost Awareness Week aims to encourage more people to realise the benefits of home composting and the great results that can be achieved by using peat-free composts containing recycled material. Throughout the week a variety of organisations will be encouraging people to give new composting activities a go.  Sussex Green Living’s 100% recycled stand, Pedro and his recycled robots will be there, playing green games and giving ideas as to how people can lead a greener life.

11th May – The South Downs Green Fair at the Sustainability Centre, just over the boarder in Hampshire.  Families can try their hand at bushcraft, clay-sculpturing, green suppliers, seed swapping, music, food and much more.

23rd – 26th May Elderflower Fields Family Festival at Pippingford Park in the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. The Elderflower Fields Festival is a quality and great value family festival in the heart of the beautiful Sussex countryside. It is a magical weekend of activities in an exciting and safe environment, designed especially with families and children in mind.   More information here.

31st May – 1st  June – The Floral Fringe Fair at Knepp Castle, West Grinstead, West Sussex, RH13 8LJ.  The Floral Fringe Fair is a traditional outdoor event on a county estate.  The Fair aims to inspire people to make their gardens wildlife friendly.  Sussex Green Living’s 100% recycled stand, Pedro and his recycled robots will be there, playing green games and giving ideas as to how people can lead a greener life.  More information here.

5th June – World Environment Day.  World Environment Day is an annual event that is aimed at being the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action. World Environment Day activities take place all year round but climax on 5 June every year, involving everyone from everywhere.  Learn more here.

8th June – World Ocean Day people around the planet celebrate and honor the body of water which links us all, for what it provides humans and what it represents. Be a part of this growing global celebration!  More information here.

8th June – Open Farm Sunday is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to meet the farmers who grow their food and care for the countryside.  Search for a farm to visit here.

16th – 22nd June – Recycling Week  brings a national focus to the environmental benefits of recycling. Now in its 17th year, this established and highly regarded annual campaign continues to educate and stimulate behaviour change.  It gives people the tools to minimise waste and manage material resources responsibly at home, work and school.

16th – 22nd June – The Big Wild Sleepout is all about spending a night in nature’s home to raise money and help save our wildlife.  Join family or friends for a fun sleepout in your back garden or at your local RSPB reserve. Put up a tent, make a shelter or sleep under the stars and discover a whole world of wildlife on your doorstep. Due to commitments on 21st June Sussex Green Living are holding a Big Wild Sleepout near Billingshurst on Saturday 14th June.  More information here.

22nd June 11am – 5pm – Sussex Festival of Nature in Stamner Park.  This free event aims to connect people and nature, there will be lots of interesting and fun activities for all the family. The festival is the largest park event organised by Brighton & Hove City Council and celebrates the unique and varied habitats and landscapes of Sussex. 26th – 27th June – Eco Technology Show, The Brighton Centre, Brighton.  The Eco Technology Show is an exhibition and conference showcasing low carbon technologies across domestic, commercial and public buildings, energy, transport and lifestyle sectors. It highlights how we can all embrace new developments in technologies to save money and deliver genuine benefits to both business and communities on-going.

17th July – Connect with the Countryside event at South of England Showground. Connect with the Countryside offers 5 – 6 year old school children an engaging and interactive opportunity to learn all about food, farming, the countryside and the environment. The many ‘hands-on’ activities support the National Curriculum and will help your pupils find out about food production and the countryside.   More information here.

27th July – 20th August – Treasure from Trash Exhibition and Workshops at Linklater, Lewes Railway Land in Lewes.  More information here.

6th August – National Playday. Thousands of children and their families get out to play at hundreds of community events across the UK. From small-scale events to thousands of children taking over Trafalgar Square – Playday is celebrated by each community in a way that suits them.  Find out more here.

16th August 2 – 6pm – Charity Farm Fest 2014, Terra Amata, Broadford Bridge Road, West Chiltington, RH20 2LF. 19 – 22nd September – Beachwatch Big Weekend.  This once a year beachclean and Survey is organised by the Marine Conservation Society and is the biggest beach clean up event in the UK.  To find out more or locate your nearest event visit this website.

19th – 21st September – Clean up the World Weekend.  Aims to inspire and empower communities to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment. Learn more here.

22nd – 28th September – Waste less and live more week. The week aims to raise awareness that environmental and social issues in our food system are interlinked and tackling these issues together is a far more effective solution. Learn more here.

28th September 11 – 5pm – Apple Festival, Stanmer Park, Brighton.  This is a traditional family  seasonal celebration in and around the orchards at Stanmer Park.  With lots of cider and home made apple goodies, storytelling, tugs of war, morris dancing and much more.A seasonal celebration in and around the orchards at Stanmer Park.  Have a thoroughly apple-themed day at our annual seasonal celebration!  Sussex Green Living’s 100% recycled stand, Pedro and his recycled robots will be there, playing green games and giving ideas as to how people can lead a greener life.

1st – 7th October – International Vegetarian Week consider joining people around the world raising awareness to the ethical, environmental, health and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle.  Learn more here.

16th October – World Food Day, join the global movement to end hunger. Be a part of the solution and take action in your community and around the world. Help to end hunger.

18th October 11 – 4pm – Art and Craft Fair at Kelsey Hall, Ifold.  Sussex Green Living’s Green Stand will be selling goods made by and sold on behalf of the Philippine Community Fund. More information can be seen here.

16th November (provisional date) – The European Week for Waste Reduction is an initiative aiming to promote the implementation of awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management during a single week.
