We are delighted to share with you an exciting opportunity for your pupils to participate in an eco art competition we are running in partnership with the South Downs National Park, kindly supported by The Boltini Trust. Below you will see the winning art from the 2020 Clean up and Create eco art competition. We are really looking forward to seeing what you wonderful eco artist produce in 2022!

​This year’s Clean up and Create  competition is entitled Art in the Park. The aim is to encourage schools, families and young people to take a walk in the park, surrounding countryside or school grounds, carry out litter pick up, analyse the results, action plan around ​eliminating litter​ and then get creative with a piece of art. ​ We hope they will help us create great places for humans, wildlife, marine life and reduce the effects of climate change on our great Planet!

Competition deadline is 12 noon on the 20th June, winners being announced week commencing  8th July 2022.  1st prize for each category is £75 worth of art resources. ​The competition can be entered through the school, uniformed groups or as individuals supported by a parent or guardian who live in Sussex or Hampshire. As part of the project we are able to offer virtual or in-school Clean up and Create assemblies and lessons to the first 12 schools applying form this part of the park. Please contact Carrie on to book an assembly or lesson.  Learn more below.

Competition categories: 

Category 1      5 – 7 year olds     Create a piece of art to reflect your ‘Walk in the Park’ or local countryside. You might want to make a picture frame with litter collected too.

Category 2    5 – 7 year olds      As above but a group of children.

Category 3    8 – 11 year olds    Create a piece of art to reflect your ‘Walk in the Park’ or local countryside. You might want to make a picture frame with litter collected too.

Category 4    8 – 11 year olds    As for 3 above but a group of children.

Category 5    12 – 13 year olds    Create a piece of art to reflect your ‘Walk in the Park’ or local countryside. You might want to make a picture frame with litter collected too.

Category    12 – 13 year olds   Create a collage in the style of your favourate artist! Might be using litter collected on your walk as an art resource.  Name who the artist is please.

Category 7    As for category 5 above but 14 – 16 year olds

Category 8    As for category 6 above but for 14 – 16 year olds

FREE environmental education

We can also offer schools (in West Sussex) an exciting Bright New Future Roadshow in schools and at public events, it is a pop-up environmental festival with a carousel of activities which includes our Inspiration Eco Station (1974 retrofitted milk float), mobile woodland theatre truck and eco gameshow. It can include the Clean up and Create activities too. This bigger educational offering is funded (for state schools and events) by a grant from The National Lottery Grant Together for the Planet.
