National Playday outdoor free fun in Haywards Heath

Wednesday 7th August 12 – 4pm

Come and join us for National Playday event in Victoria Park in Haywards Heath. The event aims to encourage young people and families to use the park and its facilities, the theme of the event being ‘Nature and the environment’.

The Sussex Green Living mascot Pedro and his recycled robots will be playing green games, to include:

12 noon – recycled bead and jewellery making

12.45pm –  learn about recycling and then run the recycling race!

1.30pm – animal masks and crowns made out of recycled cereal boxes, feathers, leaves, plastic bottle tops etc

2.15pm – flowers made out of egg boxes and Christmas wrapping paper

3pm – have a go at any of the above or freestyle eco art!

Steel can upcyclingAlso upcycled games – Ringo and 10 tin bowling, recycling quizzes and crosswords…. A display of inspirational eco art and lots of green recycled goods for you to buy!

Also taking place fancy dress for the under 8 ‘s, football, archery, scavenger hunt, egg and spoon race, a series of tasks that everyone young and old can take part in, like recording species of bugs and plants (via Nature Street), changing a bike wheel, using a piece of the gym equipment, games and competitions – prizes for taking part!

Bring a picnic and join in the fun.
