Organ donation is the ultimate in recycling…

By donating your organs, blood and or tissues after you die, you will help save and transform the lives of desperately ill people.  It really is the ultimate in recycling!

Each donor is precious so if you want to make a real difference join the NHS Organ Donor Register and talk about your donation decision with family and friends. Letting them know what you’ve decided now makes it much easier for them to support your decision to be a donor:

You can also donate organs and blood while you are still alive. Learn how you can help save lives through Living donation.

Here is just one happy story…

Rich Smith, from Bridgnorth, Shropshire, ended up in a coma when his liver failed for unknown reasons.

He was close to death but thankfully with around 24 hours left to live, the hospital got the call needed to save his life.

The 46 -year-old has now been well for 20 years – he has two children, a successful career as a chartered surveyor and competes as a transplant cyclist.

Rich said: “If you want to find a really easy way to make yourself feel better in about 30 seconds, just sign up and you’ll have a warm glow all day.”
