Single use Plastics

SINGLE-USE PLASTIC RECYCLING SCHEME

We work with a number of charities and companies who recycle the single-use plastics listed below. TerraCycle is one of the companies: they are an innovative recycling company that has become a global leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials. This scheme helps diverts billions of waste resources from our landfills and incinerators, recycling them to make new products.  We also recycle ink cartridges.

Income generated through our recycling benefits: Purple Community Fund, Springboard Project, William Penn School, Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance and Sussex Green Living.

PLEASE could you sort your collected items and put them into separate bread bags (which are recycled too!). This will save us so much time.  Thank you.

This poster lists all the waste resources we recycle:

Our drop-off locations

We have special single-use plastic recycling bins at the public drop off locations across West Sussex shown in this downloadable pdf.  (opens in new tab). You can also see the locations in the interactive map below.  Click on any marker to see the site address, opening times, and what items can be recycled.

Set up your own drop-off location

If you’d like to set up your own single use plastic recycling drop-off location, then our easy how-to page will help you get started with the Sussex green living scheme (opens in new tab).

TerraCycle provides many drop off locations across the UK, each recycling slightly different things so there may well be a site near you that meets your needs.

These posters show in more detail the waste resources we recycle through TerraCycle. Our parish micro drop-off locations can choose to recycle – one, some or all of these waste types.
