SINGLE-USE PLASTIC RECYCLING SCHEME

We work with a number of charities and companies who recycle the single-use plastics listed below. TerraCycle being one of the companies, they are an innovative recycling company that has become a global leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials. This scheme helps diverts billions of waste resources from our landfills and incinerators, recycling them to make new products.

We have special single-use plastic recycling bins at these public drop off locations:

  • Horsham – Quaker Meeting House, Worthing Road, Horsham, RH12 1SL – 24/7. Collecting everything on our list. Please  use the green bin by the cottage door, right side of the main building, under the window.  (Main location with a recycling hub at the Unitarian Church 4 buildings away as a stockpiling before dispatch facility).
  • Coolham – William Penn Primary School, Coolham, Nr Billingshurst, RH13 8GR – 24/7. Collecting everything on our list
  • Thakeham – Thakeham Village Hall which is usually open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10.00 to noon. Collecting – post covid I would need to double check this
  • Storrington – Pop-up once a week at Storrington Community Market – Fridays 9.45 to 11.15am, in Storrington Village Hall, near the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre. Collecting – post covid I would need to double check this
  • Slinfold – Red Lion Pub car park – 24/7. Collecting writing equipment, snack packets, crisp bags, sweet and savory biscuit wrappers, cake packaging and bread bags
  • Mannings Heath – village hall car park –24/7. Collecting pet food packaging, snack and crisp packaging and milk bottle tops
  • Amberley – Amberley Primary School available to the public 8.30am until lunchtime every Friday in front of school gates. Collecting crisp packets, sweet and savory biscuit wrappers, cake wrappers, toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes, electric and battery toothbrush heads and all associated plastic packaging, home cleaning products plastic bottle caps, trigger heads, pumps and cleaning wipe packaging
  • Barns Green – NEW 2020 – Chapel House, Chapel Road, Barns Green, RH13 0PR – 24/7. Collecting everything on our list except pet food packaging
  • Billingshurst – NEW 2020 – Unitarian  High St, Billingshurst RH14 9QS car park – 24/7. Collecting crisp packets and non-meat savoury snack packets, Biscuit, cracker and cake wrappers, Cereal bar and rice cake wrappers, Beauty and personal care products such as pots, lids, pumps and trigger spray heads, roll on/stick deodorant, lip balm containers, lids from sun-care products, Baby food pouches (any brand) and Ella baby snack packets
  • Steyning – coming soon
  • Coldwaltham – coming soon
  • Pulborough – coming soon
  • Cowfold – coming soon
  • Cootham – coming soon
  • There are quite a few schools who collect specific waste resources for us.
  • Henfield – We helped set up a new TerraCycle recycling location which is run by www.sustainablehenfield2030.org volunteers, their waste going into 
    http://recyclinginlancing.org.uk/
  • A number of schools are collecting for our single-use plastic recycling scheme. They have recycling bins for their school and in some instances the wider community. They collect, sort and dispatch with pre-paid address labels provided by us in secondhand boxes.

Our Refill Service

Did you know we offer a personal and household cleaning product bottle refill service at the Horsham Repair Cafe on the first Saturday of every month? Saving you money and reducing the number of plastic bottles which need recycling. At the Horsham Repair Cafe you can also buy organic, dry and loose food from a new Horsham based company Earthkind, bring your own container and only pay for the food!
