Another new service! A SEWING MACHINE CLINIC will be taking place at the monthly Sussex Green Hub (SGH) on Saturday 30th April. The clinic will take place in the afternoon of 30th April between 2- 4pm (SGH open 10am – 4pm), at the United Reformed Church, Horsham, RH12 1PT (behind Wilkos).  There is some parking behind the church and instructions to get to it are here https://www.sussexgreenliving.co.uk/united-reformed-church-directions-to-sussex-green-hub/.  If there is enough interest this might become a monthly feature.
Come and ask questions, learn how to use all the functions on your sewing machine…
If sewing machines need any parts or servicing https://www.sewingmachineservices.co.uk/ will take them to his workshop (in Horsham) and provide you with a quote to do the work. So bring your machines if you want or just watch and learn!
Throughout the day 10 – 4pm there will be lots of other services and advice including the Horsham Repair Cafe electrical, mechanical and textile repairs, bookings essential https://www.sussexgreenliving.co.uk/cafes-forums/horsham-repair-cafe/. Knife and scissor sharpening (just turn up for this service).

Also come and get involved in the stitched Horsham Cape of Good Hope project which is a collaborative community project…details in the link.  Come and hand stitch with us on Saturday if you would like to join in or take a mini kit away with you to get you started. This community creative project will take place at each Sussex Green Hub (last Saturday of each month). It will also be on display when we take our mobile Inspiration Eco Station (retrofitted 1974 milk float) to Brinsbury College on 19th, 20th and 21st August to the Brinsbury Craft and Design Show. At this three day show our wonderful textile volunteers will be sharing their creative upcycling and ‘Make do and mend’ skills.

On 30th April at the Sussex Green Hub you will also be able to explore:
  • Recycling display and advice from our Sussex Green Living recycling volunteers (endearingly called the Wombles).
  • Zero waste display, advice and sales.
  • Gardening, allotment advice and seed exchange by Transition Horsham and planting us pots of vegetables, salad and herbs to take home at our Inspiration Eco Station – our retrofitted milk float outside the URC.
  • Free food being given away by the Horsham Community Fridge 10am usually all gone by 11am.
  • Our bottle refill service for personal and household cleaning products.
  • Carbon clinic.

Please join us and encourage others to come too!
