Walk with nature

Looking for some outdoor play for the children to make them run off all that energy?  And are you in need of a little breathing space this summer holiday?  How about joining us on a Sussex Green Living walk, talk, play and picnic – “Walk with Nature”.  We have been watching the weather it is looking OK on Friday 22nd August, so we have decided to head off to the truly stunning Lords Piece Common, Near Fittleworth – here are a few photos to whet your appetite!

It is a magical place and one of the hidden gems in West Sussex, currently it is ablaze with bright purple heather and humming with millions of honey bees hard at work. The backdrop to this unique common is Bury Hill and the South Downs National Park.  We are meeting in the main car park (corner of the common) at 10.30am, we plan to walk for about one hour and then end with a picnic. It is best approached from the A29 near Coldwaltham , the turning is near the Sussex Farm Shop. We will be walking on glorious golden sandy footpaths so sadly it is not suitable for prams.

Do you fancy joining us?  If you do please email us to let us know you are coming and giving us your mobile number. Happy walking.

Outdoor play, physical activity and experiencing nature have been scientifically proven to be very important in positively influencing our health and wellbeing, you can learn more about the research behind this here.

More outdoor play locations in West Sussex can be seen here.

Or you can learn about our Sussex Green Living “Walks with Nature”, “Trash or Treasure Hunts” and Geocaching here.  Geocaching is modern day treasure hunting which children love!

We want you, the people of Sussex, to take some ownership of www.sussexgreenliving.co.uk.  Forward your suggestions for events, videos, parks and green spaces etc to be added to “your” site.
