You can help this Philippine disaster

You can make a difference……Last week we published an urgent message about another disaster in the Philippines… the Philippine Community Fund (PCF), their community centre, health centre, school for 600 children and 3,000 families are being evicted from their homes on this Manila dumpsite. The full story can be read here.

You can support them in many ways:

1. Buy some of their beautiful upcycled jewelry, bags, ipad covers and purses. The full proceeds go to the PCF.  We sell their goods on our Sussex Green Living Recycled Green Stand, which goes to lots of events. It nicely illustrates our point “there is no such thing as rubbish just a waste resource in the wrong place”.

2. If you live in West Sussex we could bring our pop up shop along and you could host a coffee morning or invite some friends around to learn about this charity, over a glass of wine!  A list of the events we are attending can be seen here!  Or you can buy from their e-commerce shop.

3. You can make a donation, sponsor a child (just £20 per month), fundraising, volunteer or start a community collection of ring pulls from drink and food cans and toothpaste tubes.

4. You could give a corporate donation a give office supplies/stationary which would reduce their office running costs and enabling them to send more money to the Philippines.  Learn more here.

If you would be prepared to hold a PCF fundraising event please contact Carrie on .  You can download this poster to spread the word how people can help or use it to invite people to a fundraising event.

We want you, the people of Sussex, to take some ownership of  www.sussexgreenliving.co.uk.  Forward your suggestions for events, videos, parks and green spaces etc to be added to “your” site.
